Are you interested in being the captain on your next boating trip?  Our Women on Water (WOW) training courses are designed to allow female boaters to gain confidence, take the helm and meet new friends in your boating community.

Whether you are new to boating or have been on the water for a while, the WOW training will be of interest and value to you.  This hands-on, interactive and fun learning program is designed for female boaters who currently have a Pleasure Craft Operators Card and is free of charge.  The instruction is provided by Scott MacCrimmon and takes place at the Marina.  Participants decide if they would prefer outboard or inboard/outboard training and, Scott provides the boat.

WOW courses are scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd (rain date June 9th) as well as Saturday July 7th (rain date July 14th). 75 minute courses will be delivered to groups of three from 10 am – 3 pm each day.  Participants may sign up individually or in groups up to 3 people.

    • Checking for leaks, water
    • Blower operation (4 minutes)
    • Cold start procedures

  • Crossing a wake
  • Operating in bad weather
  • Sharing the water
  • operating near swimmers, non-powerboats
  • Wake
  • Towing, hand signals
  • Docking
  • Tying up
