Welcome Back!

It’s a bright, blue-sky Saturday and I just met with a client, his mother, and son to inspect and finish a deal on a small Boston Whaler. Three generations excited about the arrival of another season, and the thirteen-year-old’s first boat. The meeting made me think that Spring, more than any other season, creates excitement. It fills us with anticipation for the upcoming summer season, reminds us of our youth and memories of a first boat. It’s known that parents or grandparents that expose their families to the world of boating will create enthusiasts for life.I believe that as the noise (constant news feeds and “screens”) of the world gets faster and louder, we need to trust more in something simpler like one of life’s joys we can rely on to stay the same. In our world, that something is the love of boating on wherever body of water we call home.Very soon, we will welcome EHM customers, families, and friends back to the River for Summer ’17 and, oh, what fun we’ll have!In this newsletter you will find updates on Cobalt’s new Surf Technology, the 2017 Sea-Doo GTI 900, and some tips for U.S. buyers wanting to purchase a boat in Canada. In addition, you will preview our exciting events planned for the next several months and meet some new members of our Crew.

EHM Update:
For US Citizens, how easy is it to buy my next boat in Canada?
Storage
We hear that question a lot from new customers and we are happy to say that it is an easy process for citizens of the U.S. to buy a boat in Canada. In fact, Ed Huck Marine has been serving U.S. boaters for more than 125 years in the same location in Rockport. About 35% of our annual business is to U.S. citizens that call the 1000 Islands their Summer home. Our brands Cobalt, Tiara and Boston Whaler are all manufactured in the U.S. and simply need the certificate of origin to return ” home”. State tax is paid where you register and that’s it, no Canadian taxes or duties. In some cases, the strong U.S. dollar can work in favour of U.S. citizens on Canadian brands such as Stanley and Rossiter, as well as our pre-owned inventory. So if you’re looking for “On The River Service”, dockage/storage solutions or sales now is the time to email Scott to learn how easy it is to do business “where you do your boating”.

We’re Ready for Summer 2017
Storage
Some of our boaters have limited time to use their boats. Some enjoy the water for a weekend and don’t return for 2 or 3 weeks or longer. If this sounds all too familiar, would you like your boat to be stored indoors during the summer when it is not in use? In doing so, rain, sun and waterline scum would no longer be a worry or concern and Vessel Valet Service might be for you.We will be offering 10 boaters the opportunity to store their boat inside our ParkStor storage building when they are not being used. Just email Peter 24 hours in advance of your arrival, and we’ll have your boat launched, gassed and ready to go. Email when you go home, and we’ll return the boat to ParkStor the very next day so that it stays clean until your next visit. We can handle most boats from 13′ to 40′ and perform service and detailing requests during your absence. Email Peter to learn more. There are more exciting Updates to Come, keep an eye on your inbox for our next newsletter
