Holiday Reflections
As we collectively head into the Holiday season, please take time to reflect and give thanks. For most, we have so much to be thankful for and few regrets. Every day Pete and I get to work with great staff and customers, most of whom we consider friends, while doing so in one of the most beautiful places in the world. One day blends into the next, sometimes all too quickly.
During recent travel I took time to look at pictures on my iPad and last week I came across these two pictures of our kids. What seemed like a few years gap was actually 14, and there it is in a nutshell, how fast time had passed.
How many more summers do you have left to engage with your kids, or your kid’s kids, before summer jobs, education and responsibilities get in the way? Time with family and friends on the water have created some of the best lifetime memories for my family, but looking at pictures I’m reminded that it doesn’t go on forever. Ask yourself how best to invest in the summers left with your kids, for if not now, when?
Happy Holidays!

A Special Thank You
As the 2014 boating season finally comes to a close and the shoreline of the 1000 Islands begins to ice over, it allows the entire Marina Crew the opportunity to think back on the past 8 months. More than any other thought is our thanks to the amazing boaters that we get to work for. As well, for Scott and I especially, the continued support you have shown us over the last 20 years.
I understand that you have many choices for your recreational time and the fact that you continue to reward Ed Huck Marine by sharing this time with us on the River is overwhelming.
So please accept our heartfelt thanks, your loyalty is appreciated. Seasons Greetings and I look forward to starting the 2015 boating season with you in Toronto in a month’s time.
Happy Holidays!
–Peter

Marina Notes
Dockage Renewal Contracts:
The 2015 renewal Dockage contracts have now all been emailed. If you have not received yours, please email Sue to receive a copy. It is very important that these be returned with deposits by December 15 as we will begin reassigning slips after this date.
Winter Work Projects:
The Winter Work projects will be starting in the next week. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your boat’s off season servicing, please contact Chris.
Attention US Customers:
US customers with boats at Ed Huck Marine for winter storage, there is a new protocol with Canada Customs this year with one extra step for both the boat owner and the marina. We have now filed the new E29B paperwork on your behalf (E99’s previously) but each of these contracts has an expiry date. This spring after launch, each US registered boat must be checked into the US and that check-in number submitted to us. We will then contact Canada Customs with that number which will cancel your contract. Please contact Sue if you have any questions regarding the new system.
The Marina will be closed for Holidays from December 19th to January 5th.
