Boat Detailer

Hucks Marine & Resort is hiring! We are looking for a full-time Boat Detailer to join our team!

About You: You are energetic, friendly and polite.  You enjoy taking on new challenges and believe in seeing projects through from start to finish.  You love working with people including fellow staff members and our valuable customers.  You are entrepreneurial, possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, flexibility and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest level of detailing and cleaning standards of boats being delivered to clients, for display at shows, inventory boats and boats in for service
  • Clean exterior of boats, including boat hulls, prior to their storage
  • Wash, clean, wax and vacuum boat interiors
  • Inspect overall condition of cleaned boats to ensure acceptability to the customer
  • Coordinate boat cleaning with Seasonal Staff as required
  • Opportunity to grow into Buffing and Waxing boats in future

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.
  • Valid driver's license with your own transportation
  • Professional attitude and attire at all times
  • Stays focused on jobs at hand and values accomplishment of daily tasks
  • Punctual, a self starter, follow direction and hard working
  • Good physical mobility
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management
  • Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision

Customer Experience Coordinator

About you: You enjoy working in a fast paced and team-oriented environment with fellow staff members, our valuable customers and visitors.  You have a high aptitude for customer service that will contribute to our goal to enrich the lives of all those who live, work and play on the water.  You are team minded, display entrepreneurial skills, possess strong oral, written and organizational skills and are experienced in hospitality within a retail environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proudly represent our brand and share your enthusiasm with our customers and visitors.
  • Provide customer service excellence to all aspects that our marina offers including general appearance of our retail store, merchandise display, and selling procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the opening, closing and daily operations of marina facilities.
  • Assist with hiring, training and managing work schedules and daily task lists while supervising our seasonal student ambassadors.
  • Effectively meet and greet customers and assist in coordinating parking passes, reservations at the fitness facility and pool and  distribution of key fobs.
  • Assist with general maintenance of marina facilities.
  • After Sale and Service, follow up to ensure the highest level of service was achieved.
  • Supervise fuel dock service, maintain inventory and be responsible for all point of sale transactions at our waterfront retail store.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required or assigned by management.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of previous hospitality experience preferably in a leadership role.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a retail environment an asset.
  • Proficient computer and technology skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends during peak season.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.

Yard Helper

Hucks Marine & Resort is hiring!  We are looking for passionate people for our growing Service Team.  This great opportunity for a Yard Helper features competitive wages, benefits, year-round employment and room to grow within our company.

About Us: Hucks Marine & Resort is a full-service marina located on the St. Lawrence River in Rockport, Ontario.  We love where we work, what we do and strive to provide our customers with exemplary service in an environment that is fun and relaxing!

Responsibilities include:

  • Boat preparation for spring launch and haul out: removing shrink wrap, acting as a spotter for our truck drivers when moving boats, helping launch and haul boats, shrink wrapping boats in fall, bottom washing
  • Yard maintenance: collecting and storing blocks and stands around the property, cleaning up the shop and ensuring it is presentable at all times, general marina maintenance, keeping the property in a respectable condition, building maintenance

 

The successful candidate will be:

  • Competent - follows all safety procedures
  • Physically fit - involved in all aspects of boat movement, including boat securing, yard maintenance, launching and hauling from the water
  • Team player - works well with fellow employees to achieve Department's goals
  • Dependable - hardworking and an effective communicator

  • Stays focused on jobs at hand and values accomplishment of daily tasks
